Glenn Miller

Day 96
#87 – Alton Glenn Miller (1904–1944). American big band musician, arranger, composer, and bandleader in the swing era. Recordings include: In the Mood (1939), Pennsylvania 6-5000 (1940) and Chattanooga Choo Choo (1941).

At the height of his fame, Miller boarded a flight to Paris on December 15, 1944. The aircraft disappeared over the English Channel and was never recovered. He was 40. I experimented with shapes and colour and settled on the vertical wave to suggest the sea. Covering his name suggested the idea of him disappearing.
